Cats Health - Vaccinations
If your cat is staying with us in the summer from May until September, when the occupancy is higher, then the vaccination against flu may not be older than six months. In winter time, from October until April, the vaccination may not be older than ONE YEAR. Vaccination against distemper once every two years, is sufficient. All vaccinations must be given at least three weeks before placement in the kennel.

IMPORTANT
Cats with an unknown vaccination past or when the vaccination is older than one year, need to be vaccinated before placement in our kennel. There needs to have been, an interval of at least 3 weeks after the first inoculation, and a single additional (booster) against cat flu. We also recommend that you vaccinate your cat against Chlamydia.

No vaccine offers 100% protection against flu. Cats with a reduced resistance, despite vaccination, can still get sick, although the symptoms in most cases are much milder than in an unvaccinated cat. Naturally, in that case the cat will be immediately treated and often the cat is better in a week.

Categories of cats with reduced resistance:
1. Kittens.
2. Elderly cats.
3. Stress-sensitive cats.

The temporary change of environment can cause stress, resulting in reduced resistance. In this period, cats with reduced resistance are more vulnerable to the virus that causes the flu. If you want to read more about flu, you can click on this link: :: Cat Flu

Nutrition
We prefer to give your cat dry food because it has a high nutritional value and results in fewer droppings. The dry food brands we provide include Iams, Hill's and Technical. If your cat does not eat dry food, then we have various brands of canned food. If your cat eats diet food, then you have to provide the food yourself. Please provide sufficient food for the whole period. Indicate the name of your cat and the dose/number of meals clearly on the package. We can not reduce the price of the stay, due to the extra time and attention this will take.

Medications
If your cat needs medication, please give enough medication with clear instructions. For a time-consuming medical treatment we have to charge extra.

Veterinarian
If possible, we always contact your own vet first in case of illness, before we contact the duty vet in our area. In case of an emergency, we go directly to the nearest veterinarian on call. Hereafter we will always contact the owner or the contact person. When you pick up your cat we will charge you the costs of the vet and the transport.

Flea/worming
Before placing we request you to treat your cat against worms and a good working anti-flea medicine. If your cat still suffers from worms/fleas while staying in our kennel, we will immediately proceed to treatment. We will charge you the costs.
